Most people like to think they're good drivers.

After all, you should only get behind the wheel if you're willing to be both savvy and patient. Even so, we should still brush up on our knowledge every now and then.

A driving instructor called Annie Winterburn, said there are actually two common road signs people often get wrong. It turns out the simplest things can confuse people.

The sign that signifies the end of a dual carriageway can often leave drivers stumped, Annie said in a recent video. This is because the two signs look very similar.

She holds them up to show there is a slight difference between the two, but you need to spot the variation. Both are set on a red triangle, but the symbols are slightly different.

They both show two parallel lines as if to signify a road, and they both merge together towards the top, but this is where the difference lies. While one gap closes up, the other narrows slightly but remains open. Annie admits they look "very similar", but both carry very different meanings.

Holding up a picture of the sign where the gap remains open, she said: "This sign here is showing you two lines, and these two lines get closer together. So, what it's showing you is that the road gets narrow.

"Look how wide the road is here, and look how wide it is here. So this sign is warning you that the road gets narrow on both sides, which is different from this sign (the one where the road appears to close together).

"This sign you can see two carriageways and then you can see one carriageway, so this sign is warning you that you're driving towards the end of a dual carriageway."

The simple video has reached many, with it having been viewed more than 18,000 times. Annie's followers seem to love her videos, with many claiming to have passed their theory test thanks to her clips.

Sometimes having a visual demonstration really helps things to sink in. Not to mention, things are always easier to learn when they're stripped back to basics.

One person said in the comments: "I passed my theory test today. Don't think I could have done it without all your helpful videos. Thank you."

Another replied: "Wow, I didn't know that. Thank you." A third also added: "I just passed my theory test thanks to you. She's amazing guys!"
